YOUR KINGDOM COME PRAYER WALKS

Sunday, June 11 | Greenwood Community Church | 7:45—8:45 a.m.

(meet in the west parking lot)

We’ll start walking around our church on Sunday morning, June 11 at 7:45 a.m. We’ll finish in time for you to attend the 9 a.m. service. Our focus will be all the children coming that week for Summeramma.

At Greenwood we have been considering as a church what it means to live as disciples of Jesus in God’s beautiful Kingdom. Part of this has to do with how Jesus teaches us to pray:

“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” This is a remarkable prayer.

In heaven, God’s reign is perfectly uninterrupted. His will is done in everything. And the result is pure joy—no tears, mourning, oppression, injustice, cruelty, or sin.

So Jesus, in this prayer, is saying that we can invite God’s kingdom into our lives, our cities, our churches, our families, our nation: We can say to God, please come and establish your rule, your beautiful kingdom right here. Set everything right. Make everything happen according to your goodness. Make the sunshine of your love shine into every heart and do away with all that harms people.

That’s why, to do this together, we are holding four Your Kingdom Come prayer walks this summer. We hope you’ll join us as we invite God’s beautiful kingdom to come in our community:
